Sudanese Student Killed While Protecting Women from Harassment in Punjab’s Phagwara
In a tragic incident early Thursday morning in Phagwara, Punjab, two Sudanese students were attacked by fellow university students, resulting in the death of one of them. The attack took place around 4 am in Green Valley near Law Gate, Maheru village — an area with a high population of African international students. The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Mohammad Wada Bala Yousuf Ahmed, while his friend, 26-year-old Ahmed Mohammad Nour Ahmed Hussen, was critically injured. Hussen, speaking from his hospital bed, informed the police about the six alleged attackers — students from Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar — who were staying as paying guests in the area.
